Built Not Bought:

The Pinkhammer Entrepreneur Journey

I didn’t just build a business — I built myself back up, brick by brick.
Tracy “Pinkhammer”
This page is more than a bio. It’s the origin story of a woman who turned pain into power, obstacles into opportunity, and duct-taped tools into a legacy brand. If you’ve ever had to start over, take the long way, or fight to be seen in rooms that weren’t built for you — this story is yours too.

Who Is Tracy Pinkhammer?

Rooted & Raised

I’m a proud Brooklyn girl — born in New York, but deeply shaped by Southern and Caribbean roots. My mother’s family is from Kentucky, and my father’s side is from Barbados and Panama. That mix gave me grit, flavor, and a deep respect for hard work and heritage. I’ve lived in North Carolina for a long time now, and it’s here that I built my life, my businesses, and the foundation of what became the Pinkhammer legacy.

The Beginning: From Demo Days to Design Boards

When I got started in 2011, there weren’t Black women like me out here doing this. I didn’t just manage from afar — I did the work. I unloaded trucks, demoed kitchens, laid floors, crawled into attics, and climbed onto roofs. I was hands-on, heart-first, and not afraid to get dirty.

I grew my business from $40K a year to over $586K. I’ve made money, I’ve made mistakes, and I’ve made some of the strongest entrepreneurial relationships of my life. There was no blueprint for me. I just kept building.

Kissed Frogs & Broken Deals

My path hasn’t been easy. I’ve been conned, sabotaged, and left hanging. I’ve kissed frogs, trusted the wrong people, and seen partnerships fall apart. But through it all, I never stopped believing in my eye for transformation — my ability to see the hidden beauty in any house and bring it to life on a budget.

The Walmart Posh Philosophy

I call it Walmart Posh: design that’s smart, stylish, and accessible. Every home deserves to be beautiful — no matter the price point. I specialize in creating homes that feel luxurious without breaking the bank. It’s not about cutting corners — it’s about cutting fluff.

The Birth of Pinkhammer

They call me Pinkhammer — but it started off as a joke. I was tired of my tools going missing on job sites, so I wrapped everything in hot pink duct tape. And guess what? The men stopped borrowing them. Turns out, nobody wanted to show up at the next job swinging a pink hammer. But me? I embraced it. And the name stuck.

From Struggle to Strategy

I started Allman Renovations and Reno & Realty as a licensed broker, allowing me to buy, renovate, and sell both my own properties and those of other investors. By 2018, I was thriving. Then came the hurricanes… the sudden death of my cousin and business partner, Marion… and COVID. It nearly broke me — but didn’t.

Today, I don’t swing the hammer myself. I use my knowledge and experience to guide others — real estate investors, new flippers, contractors — so they don’t have to learn the hard way. Nothing in life is guaranteed, but with the right planning and support, a lot of pain is preventable.

Why I Do This

This is more than a business to me — it’s ministry. My purpose is, and always has been, to protect and uplift. That’s why I keep a sword and crown hanging on my bedroom wall: a reminder that I slay giants and ride dragons.

I’ve always fought for justice, fairness, and truth. I don’t like bullies — and real estate has plenty of them. But Pinkhammer was built to stand tall. I’m here to show what’s possible when things are done with integrity, wisdom, and a little bit of pink.
